What you can customize in your fabric
Fabric is more than a material choice. These are the parts you can shape to fit your brand and your customers.
Fabric type
Polyester, cotton, blends, fleece, mesh and more.
Fabric weight (GSM)
Lighter fabrics for summer wear, heavier ones for warmth.
Colour
Solid dyes matched to your brand colours.
Prints and patterns
All-over sublimation, digital and screen prints.
Stretch and handfeel
Choose how soft, smooth or stretchy the fabric feels.
Performance finishes
Moisture-wicking, anti-odour, UV protection and more.
Fabric types we work with
Each fabric behaves differently on the body and in the wash. We help you pick the one that suits the garment and the way it will be worn.
Polyester
Lightweight, quick-drying and colourfast. The best base for sublimation printing and everyday sportswear.
Polyester-spandex
Adds stretch and recovery for compression wear, leggings and fitted jerseys.
Cotton and blends
Soft and breathable. A good choice for casual, lifestyle and off-field wear.
Fleece and French terry
Warm, soft fabrics for hoodies, sweatshirts and tracksuits.
Mesh and birdseye
Open-knit fabrics that let air through. Used for jerseys, shorts and ventilation panels.
Nylon
Strong, smooth and light. Suited to jackets, windwear and shell layers.
Already have a fabric in mind? Send us a swatch or a reference garment and we will match it or suggest the closest option.
Fabric weight (GSM)
GSM means grams per square metre. It shows how heavy a fabric is, and it changes how a garment drapes, breathes and keeps you warm.
The right weight depends on the product and the climate. Tell us where your customers will wear it and we will suggest a starting point, then confirm it on a swatch.
Typical weight ranges
- Lightweight, about 120 to 160 GSM: summer tops, singlets and mesh jerseys.
- Midweight, about 160 to 220 GSM: training tees, polos and everyday sportswear.
- Heavyweight, about 250 GSM and above: hoodies, sweatshirts and fleece.
These are general guides. Exact weights depend on the fabric and knit.
Performance finishes for sportswear
A finish adds a specific job to the fabric. Availability depends on the fabric and the order, so tell us what the garment needs to do.
Moisture-wicking
Pulls sweat away from the skin so the fabric dries fast during training and play.
Anti-odour
Helps reduce odour build-up during long sessions and repeated wear.
UV protection
Helps shield the skin from the sun for outdoor and summer sports.
Water-repellent
Sheds light rain and splashes on jackets and outer layers.
Fabric customization for football kits
Football kits go through a full ninety minutes of sprinting, tackling and sweat, so the fabric has to breathe, stretch and hold its colour long after the final whistle. We build the fabric spec around how your team actually plays.
- Jerseys: lightweight, breathable mesh or polyester, usually 130 to 160 GSM, with moisture-wicking and anti-odour finishes.
- Shorts: a polyester or polyester-spandex blend for stretch and shape retention through sprints and tackles.
- Socks: durable knit fabric with reinforced heel and toe zones for a full season of matches.
- Team colours and crests: lab-dip matched club colours with sublimation printing for crests, sponsor logos and player numbers that will not crack or peel.
Send us your kit design, target GSM and club colours, and we will recommend fabric options and prepare swatches before bulk production.
Custom colours and colour matching
Colour is one of the first things a customer notices. Send us a colour code, a physical swatch or a reference garment and we will match it as closely as possible.
- Colour matching: from a colour code, swatch or reference garment.
- Lab dips: small dyed samples you approve before bulk dyeing.
- Batch consistency: the same shade across your whole order.
- Colourfastness checks: resistance to washing, rubbing and sweat.
Screens show colour differently to fabric, so we recommend approving a physical lab dip before bulk.
Fabric printing and pattern customization
Make the fabric itself part of your brand. We offer several ways to add colour, artwork and texture.
- Sublimation printing: vivid all-over designs on polyester that do not crack or peel.
- Digital printing: detailed multi-colour artwork, good for smaller runs.
- Screen printing: bold, durable logos and flat-colour graphics.
- Solid dyeing: plain fabrics in your own brand colours.
- Knit textures: mesh zones, stripes and surface patterns.
Send your artwork as a vector file (AI, EPS or PDF) or a high-resolution image and we will prepare a print sample for your approval.

Fabric quality checks
A great design still fails on poor fabric. Before bulk production, we check the fabric against what you approved, so the garments you receive feel and look like the sample.
Before production, we check
- Fabric weight (GSM) against your approval
- Colour match against the approved lab dip
- Colourfastness to washing, rubbing and sweat
- Shrinkage after washing
- Stretch and recovery
- Pilling and surface finish
- Fabric defects such as holes, streaks and stains
- Print and dye consistency across the batch
MOQ and sampling
We keep minimums flexible so new brands can start small. Fabrics from our regular range usually need lower quantities than fully custom-dyed or developed fabrics. The exact MOQ depends on the fabric, colour and printing method.
Before bulk production we can share swatches, prepare lab dips and print samples, and make a sample garment for your approval.
What to send us

Fabric customization FAQs
Can I choose my own fabric?
Yes. You can pick from the fabrics we recommend, or send us a swatch or reference garment and we will match it or suggest the closest option.
Can you match my brand colour?
Yes. Send a colour code or a physical swatch and we will prepare a lab dip for your approval before bulk dyeing. Colours can look different on a screen, so please approve the physical sample.
What is GSM and how do I choose the right one?
GSM means grams per square metre and shows how heavy a fabric is. Lighter fabrics suit hot weather and high-movement sports, while heavier fabrics give more warmth and structure. We help you choose based on your product.
Can you print all-over designs on fabric?
Yes. We offer sublimation printing for all-over designs on polyester, as well as digital and screen printing. We prepare a print sample for approval before production.
What fabric do you recommend for football jerseys?
Most football jerseys are made from lightweight mesh or polyester between 130 and 160 GSM, with a moisture-wicking finish so players stay dry and comfortable for the full match. We can suggest a fabric and weight once we know your design and budget.
Is there a minimum order for custom fabric?
The MOQ depends on the fabric, colour and printing method. Fabrics from our regular range usually need lower quantities than fully custom-dyed or developed fabrics. Send us your requirements and we will confirm.
Can I get fabric swatches before ordering?
Yes. We can share swatches so you can check the feel, weight and colour, and we can prepare a sample garment before bulk production.
Ready to customize your fabric?
Send us your product idea, fabric preference and quantity. We will reply with recommendations, a quote and the next steps.
